A meeting in a nightclub in New York in 1987 turned into a three-day fling. Their affair resulted in the birth of Jonathan Berkery.
Yet the Welsh singer treated Katherine and their son, to put it mildly, to distant attention.
Katherine Is a Former Model
Katherine is a former American model. The Korean-born actress was born in 1963 and is currently 62 years old.
Berkery’s biological parents are unknown, as are her adoptive parents. Her real parents abandoned her when she was just eight years old. It is known that a New Jersey millionaire adopted her.
Katherine’s career as a model ended in 2006
Katherine started her modeling career in the 1980s. First, she worked for fashion houses, magazines, and Paris, Milan, and NYC runways.
However, her involvement with Tom Jones became a stationary point in her career. She decided to stop modeling and focus on her son’s upbringing.
In 2006, Katherine tried acting in a short film, Picture Perfect.
The Famous Three Days Fling
Tom Jones had a US tour scheduled in New York back in 1987. A day before his show, Tom and Katherine met at a nightclub. After a few talks, the singer invited her to his show the following night.
Later that day (the second meeting), the pair had dinner and then headed back to Tom’s suite at Manhattan’s swanky Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
Katherine found out she was expecting a child three months later. As she had no idea about Tom’s marriage, she tried getting in touch with him to let him know he was going to be a father.

Tom Jones vs DNA Test
Tom was sleeping with around 250 women a year at the height of his fame. Despite having a wife, Melinda Trenchard, he openly admitted having numerous affairs. (OMG 250 WOMEN A YEAR!)
When Katherine said the child was his, Tom bluntly denied acknowledging Jonathan as his son for many years. Later, a court judge ordered him to take a DNA test to prove otherwise.
After confirming, the judge ordered him to pay £1,700 a month for the first 18 years of his life. Tom agreed to the decision because he wanted nothing to do with his son.

Talking with the Daily Mail in 2008, the Welsh singer said,
“It wasn’t something I had planned. If I had planned it, I would have done something more than just financially. But it wasn’t. I just fell for it. I just fell for the seduction.”
Jonathan, his son, however, had something to say in response to Tom’s statement. Later in 2018, he said that he was hurt after hearing Tom being tricked by his mother,
“In 2008 he [Tom] finally gave an interview acknowledging me but said my mother had tricked him. It wasn’t true and it really hurt.”
